Waist
Measure around the narrowest point basically just above your naval keeping the tape slightly loose.
Hips
Measure the widest part of your hip. Make sure you keep your feet together when measuring.

Really good product, good quality and good fit. However not very water resistant. Can handle light rain for some time.
Unfortunately I had a rainy hiking day. Initially it was absolutely fine, but after 30-45 minutes under the rain, the jacket started soaking up and permeating a lot of water.
Other than that good for day-to-day use
